Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 225 g butter, softened
  • 200 g white sugar
  • 220 g packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 10 ml vanilla extract
  • 375 g all-purpose flour
  • 5 g baking soda
  • 10 ml hot water
  • 3 g salt
  • 335 g semisweet chocolate chips
  • 115 g chopped walnuts

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 175 degrees C.
  2. Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water.
  3. Add to batter along with salt. Stir in flour, chocolate chips, and nuts. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
  4. Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.

My version:

Original Nestle® Toll House® Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 280 g all-purpose flour
  • 5 g baking soda
  • 6 g salt
  • 225 g butter or margarine, softened
  • 150 g granulated sugar
  • 165 g packed brown sugar
  • 5 ml vanilla extract
  • 2 large egg
  • 336 g NESTLE® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
  • 120 g chopped nuts

Directions

  1. PREHEAT oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
  4. BAKE for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
